Hello all!
I have a question about the correct workflow between RR3 and UE5.
So, I have rigged a character using biped proxy and I think I did everything according to this post:
However, I'm still getting an error while importing the character
FAILED TO MERGE BONES:
This could happen if significant hierarchical changes have been made eg. inserting a bone between nodes.
Would you like to regenerate the Skeleton from this mesh?

It looks like joints are not aligned or something. I'm using Maya 2024 and the latest RR3 Modular version.
Is there an example how to do it correctly so everything is aligned between UE5 default Mannequin rig and my rigged character.
Full video tutorial on exact workflow would be useful.
Thanks!
This is usually due to the hierarchy not being consistent. The warning in unreal should tell you what specifically is the issue in the hierarchy. If not, you may have to manually inspect the hierarchies and see where there is an inconsistency. Either in a mismatched name or a joint having a different parent between the two skeletons.
